Literature and Drama in Language Teaching with David Farmer and Alan Pulverness August
August 14-25 2017
Norwich
Being a newcomer at Karolina School, I feel very obliged to be among those who could travel on an Erasmus+ teacher training course to England. With the help of my colleague, Dunai Ágnes, I chose Norwich Nile Shool as the site, and David Farmer and Alan Pulverness as my tutors for my trip. The place as well as the tutors proved to be the right choices.
Here is the colourful group of English language teachers from many corners of Europe and David Farmer in the middle. Many hens and only one rooster. Not an easy job for the tutor. But I can reassure you, he could manage the "farm yard" and make us work hard, and we were smiling and remained good-spirited at the same time.
During the two weeks I realized that drama techniques and games not only make classroom work more fun and the students more motivated, but require concentration and an emmense amount of group-work. This way, we teachers are enabled to make students of various backgrounds and abilities to work together for a common goal; learning.
